Senior Business Analyst – Healthcare AI Adoption & Transformation | Pleasanton, CA | Contract

Walker Healthforce is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with 10+ years of business analysis or technology consulting experience and 5+ years of healthcare experience to support AI adoption and technology transformation initiatives across a complex healthcare environment. This role focuses on identifying and evaluating AI use cases, gathering business requirements, facilitating stakeholder workshops, and supporting the implementation and adoption of AI-enabled solutions. The ideal candidate will bring strong healthcare operational knowledge, project management experience, and an understanding of generative AI capabilities, with the ability to collaborate effectively across business, clinical, and technology teams. This is a Contract opportunity.

Location: Hybrid – Pleasanton, CA (must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area; onsite 2–3 days/week mandatory)

Core Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience in IT or technology-related roles as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Solution Consultant; 10–15 years preferred.

• 5+ years of healthcare experience with strong healthcare functional and operational knowledge.

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Business, a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

• Strong experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements.

• Experience developing user stories, process maps, and current-state/future-state workflows.

• Experience leading business analysis workstreams and facilitating stakeholder discovery sessions.

• Working understanding of generative AI, automation, summarization, documentation support, and analytics use cases.

• Ability to evaluate AI opportunities based on business value, feasibility, risk, and readiness.

• Experience translating business needs into problem statements and measurable success criteria.

• Demonstrated project or program management experience, including managing scope, timelines, and stakeholders.

• Experience coordinating with business, clinical, IT, data, security, and vendor teams.

• Experience supporting testing, solution validation, and user acceptance activities.

• Experience supporting change management, training, and technology adoption.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage business leaders, clinicians, and IT stakeholders.

• Ability to manage multiple initiatives and work independently with minimal supervision.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.

• Ability to work effectively in ambiguous or emerging technology environments.

• Must reside in the San Francisco Bay Area and be available onsite in Pleasanton, CA, 2–3 days per week.

We Consider It A Bonus If You Also Have:

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience evaluating, piloting, implementing, or supporting AI and automation solutions.

• Familiarity with generative AI platforms such as ChatGPT or Claude.

• Clinical healthcare background or experience supporting clinical workflows.

• Epic functional knowledge in any module.

• Experience with health system affiliates, multi-entity organizations, or shared-services models.

• Experience with organizational change management and adoption programs.

• PMP, CAPM, Agile, or comparable project management certification.

• Familiarity with healthcare data privacy and HIPAA considerations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead business analysis activities supporting healthcare AI adoption and technology transformation.

• Collaborate with business, clinical, operational, and technology stakeholders to identify AI opportunities.

• Facilitate discovery workshops, stakeholder interviews, and requirements-gathering sessions.

• Document business and functional requirements, user stories, and process workflows.

• Translate business challenges into clear problem statements and measurable success criteria.

• Evaluate AI use cases based on business value, feasibility, risk, and organizational readiness.

• Support the evaluation and adoption of AI platforms and tools, including ChatGPT and Claude.

• Help stakeholders understand AI capabilities, limitations, and realistic implementation expectations.

• Coordinate with IT, data, security, and vendor teams to support solution delivery.

• Support testing, validation, and user acceptance activities.

• Manage project timelines, deliverables, dependencies, risks, and issues.

• Provide regular project status updates and communicate recommendations to leadership.

• Support change management, training, and communications to encourage technology adoption.

• Track AI adoption progress and report measurable business value.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve healthcare workflows and operational processes.

• Maintain business requirements, project documentation, and stakeholder presentations.
