IAM Active Directory Engineer – AWS | Remote | Contract

Walker Healthforce is seeking an IAM Active Directory Engineer with advanced Microsoft Active Directory and AWS cloud experience to design, deploy, and support enterprise directory services. This role focuses on AWS Managed Microsoft AD, self-managed Active Directory, identity and access management, authentication, security integrations, and backup and recovery. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on engineering experience with Active Directory in AWS, including Group Policy, LDAP, Kerberos/NTLM, and directory service troubleshooting. This is a Contract opportunity.

Core Requirements:

• Advanced experience designing, deploying, and administering Microsoft Active Directory environments.

• Strong knowledge of Group Policy Objects, LDAP connectivity, Kerberos/NTLM authentication, and organizational unit design.

• Experience managing Active Directory users, groups, permissions, and entitlement delegation.

• Experience implementing Active Directory backup and recovery processes.

• Strong knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure and management concepts.

• Hands-on experience with AWS Managed Microsoft AD.

• Experience deploying and supporting self-managed Active Directory within AWS.

• Experience creating, configuring, and testing Active Directory environments in AWS.

• Experience integrating Active Directory with automation workflows and enterprise security tooling.

• Experience integrating Active Directory event collection with SIEM platforms.

• Strong understanding of DNS, VLANs, and network connectivity.

• Knowledge of security event collection, logging, and monitoring.

• Experience managing development Active Directory environments.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for AWS-hosted Active Directory.

• Experience creating technical documentation, deployment standards, and operational procedures.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Job Responsibilities:

• Create, configure, deploy, and test Active Directory environments in AWS.

• Implement and manage both AWS Managed Microsoft AD and self-managed Active Directory deployments.

• Design and document Active Directory deployment and management standards.

• Establish entitlement delegation and identity administration procedures.

• Configure and manage Group Policies, organizational units, users, groups, and authentication services.

• Support LDAP connectivity and Kerberos/NTLM authentication.

• Integrate Active Directory with enterprise automation workflows.

• Implement Active Directory integration with SIEM platforms for security event collection.

• Integrate directory services with required enterprise security tools.

• Design and document Active Directory backup and restore procedures.

• Manage development Active Directory environments hosted in AWS.

• Troubleshoot AWS Active Directory configuration, authentication, connectivity, and operational issues.

• Support DNS and network dependencies affecting directory services.

• Maintain technical documentation, deployment standards, and operational support procedures.

• Collaborate with cloud engineering, IAM, and cybersecurity teams to support secure directory services.
