Application Developer II | Remote | Contract

Walker Healthforce is seeking an Application Developer II with 3+ years of professional software development support experience to provide application support, troubleshoot complex software issues, and develop quality technical solutions across distributed environments. This is a Contract opportunity.

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Remote

Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours. On-call rotations, including after-hours and weekend support, are required.

Worker Type: W2

Core Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of professional software development support experience.

• Experience troubleshooting complex software solutions across distributed environments.

• Strong root cause analysis and break-fix issue resolution experience.

• Experience with software analysis, systems design, and database development.

• Experience with Java or similar systems-oriented development, including batch jobs, web applications, and web services.

• Knowledge of unit testing, integration testing, and software development methodologies.

• Ability to document technical solutions and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

• Availability for after-hours and weekend on-call rotations.

We Consider It A Bonus If You Also Have:

• Experience with Facets or healthcare management systems involving claims, providers, membership, or billing.

• Experience with relational SQL databases, including MS SQL or Oracle.

• Experience managing and supporting JBoss EAP.

• Shell scripting experience using Bash or KornShell (ksh).

Job Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues across distributed environments.

• Collaborate with business analysts, internal stakeholders, and technical teams to identify and resolve software problems.

• Analyze and design technical solutions aligned with business requirements and architectural standards.

• Support multiple applications throughout the systems development life cycle.

• Perform software analysis, unit testing, and integration testing.

• Document technical solutions and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Maintain application functionality and support application decommissioning as needed.

• Participate in after-hours and weekend on-call rotations.
