Sr. Infrastructure Systems Engineer | Remote | Contract

Walker Healthforce is seeking a Sr. Infrastructure Systems Engineer with 8+ years of infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or system administration experience to design, configure, maintain, and support enterprise infrastructure environments across servers, operating systems, virtualization, networking, security technologies, and supporting software solutions. Candidates must possess the required active/usable clearance and be cleared to begin work on day one. This is a Contract opportunity.

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Remote

Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours

Worker Type: W2

Core Requirements:

• 8+ years of infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or system administration experience.
• Must possess the required active/usable clearance and be cleared to begin work on day one.
• Extensive experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows Server and enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Strong experience with operating systems, server hardware, and virtualization technologies.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, subnetting, DNS, networking, and firewalls.
• Experience troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and performing root-cause analysis.
• Experience supporting infrastructure security and vulnerability-management practices.
• Experience with PowerShell or similar scripting and automation technologies.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and alerting.
• Knowledge of Disaster Recovery (DR) and Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM).
• Experience supporting infrastructure upgrades, maintenance, and lifecycle-management activities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

We Consider It A Bonus If You Also Have:

• Experience with web servers and related technologies.
• Experience with scripting and infrastructure automation.
• Familiarity with public cloud technologies.
• Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD processes.
• Experience supporting enterprise applications and infrastructure tools.
• Experience with vulnerability management and security technologies.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, configure, maintain, and support enterprise server and infrastructure environments.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Servers and related infrastructure.
• Support operating systems, server hardware, virtualization, networking, DNS, and firewall technologies.
• Monitor infrastructure health, availability, and performance and resolve complex technical issues.
• Perform advanced problem isolation, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Support security, vulnerability-management, and infrastructure compliance activities.
• Support Disaster Recovery and Technology Lifecycle Management initiatives.
• Develop and maintain scripts and automation to improve infrastructure administration and operational efficiency.
• Support infrastructure and enterprise application upgrades, configuration changes, and maintenance activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, infrastructure diagrams, procedures, and configuration information.
• Participate in infrastructure change-management activities.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, DBAs, security teams, SMEs, and other technical stakeholders to support infrastructure requirements.
