Regular Infrastructure Systems Engineer

System Administrator | Remote | Contract

Walker Healthforce is seeking a System Administrator with 5–7 years of experience to provide infrastructure and system administration support across Windows Server, COTS applications, monitoring and security tools, CI/CD environments, Technology Lifecycle Management, and Disaster Recovery. Candidates must possess the required active/usable clearance and be cleared to begin work on day one. This is a Contract opportunity.

Location: Remote

Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours

Core Requirements:

• 5–7 years of System Administration experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and server environments.
• Must possess the required active/usable clearance and be cleared to begin work on day one.
• Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting servers, preferably Windows Server.
• Experience supporting operating systems, hardware, virtualization, networking, and related infrastructure technologies.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, subnetting, and DNS.
• Working knowledge of virtualization, load balancers, networking, DNS, and firewalls.
• Experience upgrading, configuring, and supporting COTS applications.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools.
• Knowledge of Disaster Recovery (DR) and Technology Lifecycle Management (TLM).
• Knowledge of PowerShell, Windows command line, or similar scripting technologies.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

We Consider It A Bonus If You Also Have:

• Exposure to public cloud technologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline tools and environments.
• Experience using scripting and automation to improve infrastructure administration.
• Experience working with software development, database, architecture, and security teams.

Job Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Servers and related infrastructure.
• Support web servers, COTS applications, monitoring tools, security tools, and CI/CD environments.
• Monitor infrastructure health and assist with resolving system and application issues.
• Support virtualization, networking, load balancing, DNS, firewall, and related infrastructure components.
• Perform application and infrastructure upgrades and configuration changes.
• Support Disaster Recovery and Technology Lifecycle Management activities.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell or command-line scripts to automate routine administrative tasks.
• Create and maintain infrastructure documentation, diagrams, procedures, and configuration records.
• Participate in change management and infrastructure deployment activities.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, DBAs, SMEs, and security teams to troubleshoot and support infrastructure environments.
