Walker Healthforce is seeking a Software Engineer with 8+ years of experience to design, develop, maintain, troubleshoot, and support modern web applications, backend services, APIs, databases, and system integrations using .NET technologies. Candidates must possess the required active/usable clearance and be cleared to begin work on day one. This is a Contract opportunity.

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Remote

Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours

Core Requirements:

• 8+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Must possess the required active/usable clearance and be cleared to begin work on day one.
• Strong experience developing and supporting applications using .NET and C#.
• Experience developing web applications using ASP.NET / ASP.NET Core.
• Experience designing, developing, consuming, and troubleshooting REST APIs and service-based applications.
• Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern web application development.
• Strong experience with SQL and relational databases, including queries, stored procedures, and application data troubleshooting.
• Experience troubleshooting issues across UI, application/service, API, database, and integration layers.
• Experience with source control, testing, CI/CD, and software deployment practices.
• Strong analytical, root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

We Consider It A Bonus If You Also Have:

• Experience with modern front-end development frameworks.
• Experience with modern .NET application architecture and data-access patterns.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
• Experience with automated testing and deployment processes.
• Familiarity with cloud-based application development and deployment.
• Experience supporting and enhancing existing enterprise applications.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, maintain, troubleshoot, debug, and enhance web applications and backend services using .NET and C#.
• Develop and support ASP.NET-based applications and REST APIs.
• Develop and maintain user-facing functionality using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related web technologies.
• Design, develop, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and application data-access functionality.
• Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot APIs and system integrations.
• Investigate application defects, production issues, and technical problems across multiple application layers.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement appropriate corrective solutions.
• Participate in application testing, code reviews, deployment validation, and release activities.
• Utilize source-control and CI/CD practices to support reliable software delivery.
• Apply established technical standards, development principles, and software engineering best practices.
• Maintain technical documentation and communicate project status, issues, risks, and dependencies.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver appropriate software solutions.
