Senior AWS Data Engineer | Jersey City, New Jersey | Contract

Walker Healthforce is seeking a Senior AWS Data Engineer with 10+ years of relevant engineering experience to provide enterprise data engineering and cloud application development support. This is a Contract opportunity.

Start Date: ASAP
Location: Onsite – Jersey City, New Jersey
Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours
Worker Type: W2

Core Requirements:

• 10+ years of relevant data engineering, application engineering, or big data experience
• Advanced Python and PySpark experience with large-scale data processing and pipeline troubleshooting
• Advanced AWS data engineering and Databricks experience
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills, including SCD Type 1 and Type 2
• Hands-on AWS ECS, Lambda, SNS, and DynamoDB experience
• Experience developing and deploying APIs on AWS/ECS
• Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills

We Consider It A Bonus If You Also Have:

• Hands-on experience with AI, LLM, or Generative AI technologies
• Experience using GitHub Copilot or comparable AI-assisted development tools

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop efficient, maintainable Python and PySpark solutions for large-scale data processing.
• Investigate and troubleshoot data pipelines and distributed processing issues.
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and data models.
• Implement data warehousing patterns, including SCD Type 1 and Type 2.
• Design, develop, and deploy scalable APIs using AWS/ECS.
• Build and support solutions using AWS ECS, Lambda, SNS, and DynamoDB.
• Build, test, and deploy applications through CI/CD pipelines.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and code quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve cloud, data, and application performance issues.
