Lead Product Engineer / Cyber Space Systems Architect | Remote | Contract

Walker Healthforce is seeking a Lead Product Engineer / Cyber Space Systems Architect with 10+ years of experience to provide senior technical leadership in the design and delivery of secure, cyber-resilient systems supporting complex space and mission-critical environments. This is a Contract opportunity.

Start Date: ASAP
Location: Remote
Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours
Worker Type: W2

Core Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship required

• 10+ years of experience as a Product Engineer, Solution Architect, Systems Architect, Technical Product Leader, or similar professional delivering complex cyber, aerospace, space, embedded, or mission-critical systems

• Bachelor’s degree required

• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary cyber and/or space systems into production and operations

• Deep experience designing secure architectures across cloud, on-premises, hybrid, and space/embedded environments

• Strong systems architecture, systems integration, and systems-thinking capabilities

• Strong cybersecurity architecture experience including identity, key management, secure boot/update, segmentation, data protection, logging, telemetry, and supply chain security

• Experience supporting compliance environments involving NIST, ATO, STIGs, and CMMC, as applicable

• Ability to lead technical decisions, manage risk, and communicate effectively with technical and executive stakeholders

We Consider It A Bonus If You Also Have:

• Experience taking products or platforms to market through pilots, co-development, or first-of-kind deployments

• Satellite mission operations or aerospace delivery experience

• Embedded and real-time systems integration experience

• Familiarity with AI/ML deployment pipelines in constrained environments

• SPARTA threat framework experience

• Active Secret or higher security clearance

• Experience with technologies such as C, POSIX, real-time operating systems, Python, PyTorch, Docker, Grafana, MQTT, Node.js, GitHub Actions, automated security scanning, and containerized deployments

Job Responsibilities:

• Serve as a senior technical authority for secure, cyber-resilient systems and product engineering

• Define technical vision, architecture, engineering standards, and delivery roadmaps

• Translate complex mission and security requirements into scalable technical solutions

• Design secure architectures spanning cyber, software, hardware, AI, space, ground, and user segments

• Develop reference architectures, technical patterns, and repeatable engineering solutions

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and technical workstream leaders

• Support compliance-ready architecture and delivery controls

• Conduct technical and industry analysis and develop recommendations, reports, and presentations

• Provide subject matter expertise during stakeholder meetings and workshops

• Guide technical risk management, systems integration, and operational readiness
