Walker Healthforce is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to provide architecture leadership for secure, compliant AI developer tooling and cloud/AI platform enablement. This is a Contract opportunity.

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Remote

Hours/Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40 hours

Worker Type: W2

Core Requirements:

• Demonstrated experience designing and owning AI developer-tooling architecture, including Claude Code, proxy/gateway design, quota and cost governance, and audit logging for formal security/compliance review.
• Architecture experience in regulated or high-compliance environments, including translating enterprise patterns into stricter compliance regimes.
• Experience with MCP protocol architecture decisions, including build vs. integrate vs. reject.
• Architecture-level experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP with security/compliance design responsibility.
• Infrastructure as Code experience, preferably Terraform, covering reusable modules, environment promotion, secrets handling, policy-as-code, and compliant change management.
• Python or comparable scripting experience for cloud, AI-platform, DevSecOps, monitoring, governance, or operational automation.
• Experience owning AI platform automation strategy and architecting LLM-based systems, including model evaluation, cost governance, observability, monitoring, and guardrails.
• Strong proactive risk communication and technical documentation skills.
• We Consider It A Bonus If You Also Have:
• Experience leading security-boundary-segregated or air-gapped implementations.
• DevSecOps strategy ownership experience.
• Data pipeline / data engineering background for AI use cases beyond code generation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Design and own secure AI developer-tooling and cloud/AI platform architecture.
• Define gateway/proxy, quota, cost governance, audit logging, observability, and compliance patterns.
• Establish reusable Terraform/IaC and automation approaches for compliant provisioning and operations.
• Define MCP integration decisions and MLOps/AI-platform deployment, monitoring, and guardrail patterns.
• Automate governance, reporting, audit evidence collection, and operational workflows.
• Document architecture and proactively communicate risks and implementation issues.
