AI Solutions Architect / AI Engineer | 6-9 Years of Experience | Hybrid/Onsite | Atlanta, GA / Hartford, CT / St. Paul, MN | Contract

Walker Healthforce is seeking an AI Solutions Architect / AI Engineer with 6-9 years of experience to support enterprise AI, Generative AI, and emerging technology initiatives. This is a Contract opportunity. Candidates must be willing to relocate or work from one of the designated office locations in Atlanta, GA, Hartford, CT or St. Paul, MN.

HOURS/SCHEDULE: 40 hours

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

• 6-9 years of experience in Software Engineering, AI/ML Engineering, Data Science, AI Architecture, or related disciplines
• Advanced hands-on experience with Python development and AI/ML solution implementation
• Advanced experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, and AI-powered application development
• Advanced experience with AI architecture, AI solution design, and machine learning model integration
• Intermediate experience with ReactJS and modern front-end application development
• Intermediate experience with MLOps, AI Ops, CI/CD pipelines, and model deployment practices
• Hands-on experience with OpenAI, Claude, GitHub Copilot, and enterprise AI development tools
• Experience with Node.js, Jenkins, GitHub, and software delivery automation
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, STEM field, or equivalent experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals, model evaluation, and AI solution lifecycle management
• Experience with prompt engineering, fine-tuning strategies, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and multimodal AI solutions
• Experience working with vector databases and semantic search technologies
• Familiarity with agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain, CrewAI, Strands, AutoGen, or similar platforms
• Experience implementing tool-calling, function-calling, memory systems, and autonomous agent workflows
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience working within Agile and cross-functional delivery teams

WE CONSIDER IT A BONUS IF YOU ALSO HAVE:

• Experience with AWS Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, Azure AI, or Google Cloud AI platforms
• Experience designing and deploying multi-agent AI systems
• Knowledge of responsible AI, AI governance, bias mitigation, and AI ethics frameworks
• Experience with enterprise AI platform modernization initiatives
• Experience building production-grade AI applications and intelligent automation solutions
• Insurance, financial services, or regulated industry experience

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support enterprise AI and emerging technology initiatives across business and technology organizations
• Design, develop, prototype, and implement AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and agentic AI solutions
• Evaluate, test, and apply foundation models, Large Language Models (LLMs), and modern AI frameworks
• Build proof-of-concepts and pilot solutions that address business challenges and operational opportunities
• Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, vector search solutions, and knowledge retrieval systems
• Develop solutions utilizing memory systems, tool usage, function calling, and autonomous agent workflows
• Support the design and implementation of multi-agent AI architectures and intelligent orchestration frameworks
• Collaborate with engineering, data, product, and business teams to transition AI solutions from experimentation to production
• Develop front-end and full-stack AI applications using ReactJS, Node.js, Python, and related technologies
• Support MLOps and AI Ops activities including deployment automation, monitoring, model lifecycle management, and CI/CD processes
• Leverage AI development tools including OpenAI, Claude, and GitHub Copilot to improve productivity and solution delivery
• Conduct testing, validation, performance evaluation, and optimization of AI solutions
• Communicate technical concepts and AI capabilities effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Promote responsible AI practices, governance standards, and ethical AI implementation principles
• Contribute to continuous innovation and enterprise AI strategy initiatives
